I don't understand academia's obsession with citations. 😅 I care way more about a policymaker picking up my paper + doing something with it than about whether you wrote my name at the end of a sentence. We should spend more time measuring impact based on the former!

I start every day sifting through a mountain of newsletters—trying to stay current on policy shifts. Over the last few weeks, I've seen more calls from policymakers & research/policy orgs alike to further the development and implementation of reverse transfer policies...

Or perhaps people who do good work (worthy of a top-tier journal) are hired to work for prestigious universities? 😅🤔

Speaking individually as a college access and financial aid expert, I’ll use a technical term to describe this headline: complete bullshit.

I'm encouraged by the growing focus on "data-informed" decisionmaking by institutions and their units. 🤩 I'm horrified by the growing misuse of data and a lack of basic data skills by those producing "insights" for such decisionmakers. 🥴
