I got an R&R that advised me to lean into the horror, and I have no idea how to write to genre so I am just going through each scene and being like "can I make this More Terrible" which? Honestly? Incredibly fun. Put the tiny people in a jar and shake harder.

Forest have always needed to burn. The indigenous people of the Americas have understood this for millennia, creating small controlled fires to clear away the underbrush. Colonizers banned these practices and called it conservation. Wildfires are what happen when necessary fires are banned.
