I'd have a manual transmission if it wasn't so dang hard to get!

It can be useful at times, but I still parallel park the old-fashioned way too. If one has learned it that way, it is easier and more accurate. But sometimes the back-up camera is handy to check distance to the vehicle behind.

The wilderness models have them, but not sure about the rest? Mine is the only Crosstrek in the entire garage with crossbars, and many of the others are higher-end models. Also several Outbacks without the crossbars. Except the ONE Wilderness models.

The crossbars are not included with all models. Other than that, the car does not need any modifications; it will add dust on its own!

You also need to get a proper roof rack installed, and buy a tent and a camping mattress. Probably a cooler and a camp stove too. Then go camping!
