A thought I’ve had lately: The Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (aka the “unpardonable sin”) is understood as attributing the Spirit’s work to the Devil. The fruit of the Spirit includes love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, faithfulness… Saying “empathy is a sin” attributes that to the Devil.
