I worked at Disney a while ago. Do you know why theme parks are so safe? Because OOSHA reps can walk the track on any ride at any time and any safety violation they see is a $10,000 fine. Each. Theme parks are not safe because the company cares. They're safe because it's cheaper to comply.

So not only am I losing time in the evenings to chores & eating more sandwiches for lunch, I'm also not getting paid for some of the time I'm actually working.

When I was WFH a few days a week, I could take time on my mandatory lunch break to do a load of laundry or clean the kitchen, or cook. Back to being in the office full-time & that "break" has disappeared—I can tell people I'm on break, while eating, & they still decide we "need" to talk RIGHT NOW.
