I've been watching a bunch of @steveshives.bsky.social videos lately, and there's this interesting thing where there's JUST enough of a generational divide here that the amount of offhand references he does hits the sweet spot of, like, I don't get many of them, but when I DO get one, I'm like YOOOO

I keep forgetting that many people are largely oblivious to things that I consider to be extremely well-known and obvious, so it comes as a real jolt to my system whenever I get commenters casually being like "oh you should do a WHOAS episode about Harry Potter"

someone in my comment section just angrily told me they looked up my channel on some "sites" and those "sites" calculated that I make $300k/year from ads. I don't know what sites this person is using but I'd appreciate it if they told YouTube about the huge piles of money they apparently owe me
