Today can be summed up as "tell me you're too neurospicy to enjoy the joke without telling me &c &c...." (although, gah, 280 miles, it's making my brain itch...)

But yeah, let's commemorate it in a song "hey, here's a fun thing to do with your other half, unwanted violence and mental anguish, because triggering people is so cool!" Seriously, if you're the sort of person who'd delight in doing that, then I think you probably need to look at yourself.

I mean, that's a pretty crappy thing to do to your beloved, isn't it? I'd be less than enamoured with Kit if she suddenly grabbed me by the lughole and made sinister comments about locking me in a room full of musical boxes. And that's just a frivolous example, never mind actual trauma.

Today's Popmaster reminding me that I still find the lyrics to Wang Chung's "Dance Hall Days" really quite unpleasant. "Take your baby by the ears and play upon her darkest fears." - seriously, in what universe would playing upon anyone's fears be anywhere near acceptable behaviour?

Solidarity. Been at it since March this year and I'm getting heartily sick of the complete lack of contact either from the initial application or the rare times I have interviews. Hope your mileage is more successful.

I do find myself wondering if non-English speakers find it hilarious when they encounter English words which have a rude meaning in their own language. (eg the verb "to waver, hesitate or sway" in German; I'm trying to think if the opposite situation ever happens)
