Ancient historian, now a temple attendant for two dainty-pawed gods who sometimes make their epiphanies. Looking for more honesty and less malice in politics, but getting this thing instead.

Yes, and she prob also persuaded herself she was liberal. My immediate impression was that she was appalling.

Not sure she was ever a liberal. When I met her in the mid '80s she was highly entitled, egotistical, dismissive of others, and of course very weird.

In Greece apartment rentals traditionally used to come without light fixtures. Don't know if that's still the case.

I read it as saying she'll work w/ ppl to attain goals that are important to everyone. Why does the fact she hasn't endorsed him change anything about it?

100

Are you assuming nobody but AES holds similar views? Or just that a politician ought to put principles aside when it comes to fellow partisans who are beyond the pale? I don't know her reasons for not endorsing him, but I do know that if she holds her expressed views it would be wrong to do so.

100

Her disgust with him on that grounds was widely reported I believe.

My undergrad prof's only comment on an original research paper investigating the connotations of certain ancient Greek terms, was to say that I didn't discover anything he hadn't already figured out for himself. My interpretation was that he planned to publish it w/out crediting me. It's who he is.

I'm not interested in arguing w/ misinformed ppl, esp when they've resolved to remain misinformed throughout a long contentious primary.

Good god you're an idiot. You link to 1 section of a 1978 law & conclude from the absence of certain regulations on the 1 page that other regulations which have been widely reported cannot exist! So you imagine nobody practiced medicine in MI before 1978? That there's no system regulating licenses?

100

He has strongly implied he was a practicing physician. An MD is a "doctor" just as a PhD is. Neither of them get to call themselves "physician" without extensive further training, tests, and the final approval of the state medical board. And after all that, you can lose right to practice w/ cause.

100

If you don't know at this late stage why he was violating the law, it's got to be bc you don't want to know. Ppl don't get to decide they're now a "physician" just bc they finished med school ffs, any more than a law school grad can portray himself as a lawyer if he hasn't been admitted to the bar.

100

Nonsense. The law is plain in MI as in most states; that AMA jazz you're trying to change the subject to is irrelevant to the law. Just as w/ Platner, the most revealing thing isn't the politician's obv bullshit but the pathetic lengths his stans will go to evade, excuse, and endorse shamelessness.

100

Maybe bc she thinks he's a sexist pig? Why would you want a politician to endorse another politician who keeps mocking women in politics? Or you gonna say she should hew instead to your own opinions of the guy?

First thing the fighting GOP keyboardists would have done: set up a blog to crowd source proving that MacArthur never allowed himself to be seen wearing a lid in pristine condition. (True, if sad.) Very next thing: begin fighting over who got to be the blog's spokesman on TV. (Just sad.)

That seems a weird drink but it's Nestor.

correction, my wife tells me they went outside a few at a time not all simultaneously

I had a colonoscopy during a major solar eclipse. Was later told that the entire medical staff trooped outside to watch the eclipse while I was out on the operating table, then wandered back in to finish the procedure. That's how big a deal it is not.

TIL Mike Johnson is in fact aware of some Republican scandals that are in the news. We need to go back through the list and see whether he now has opinions on any of the rest of them.
