Madigan may be gone, but much of the culture remains. There are many advantages to IL govt having a supermajority (not having to negotiate with MAGA is huge). This disadvantage is significant and mechanisms to address it are sorely needed.

By exaggerating its cars' capabilities, Tesla is preying on seniors' fears about losing their mobility as their health deteriorates. It's unethical as well as deeply dangerous. This kind of thing that wouldn't happen in a country with credible oversight of car companies.

This is framed as a feel-good story, but it should scare the wits out of anybody on the road. Tesla's deceptive marketing is convincing seniors that the cars drive themselves. In reality, a human must always be ready to intervene. If someone lacks the ability to do that, they shouldn't be driving!

My Haitian friend was just fired from his job. "They said I don't have a legal status now." This is likely happening to hundreds of thousands of people across this country today. Sick.

As I've said many times, the revocation of TPS for Haitians is horrific on its face, but it's *also* going to have a devastating cascade of effects because Haitian workers are the backbone of health and human services supports for elderly and disabled folks, especially here in Massachusetts.

A final thought: What's happening with Haitians and TPS is a microcosm of how our entire immigration system is designed to criminalize people. This administration is pointing to a bullshit Supreme Court ruling as evidence that Haitians are criminals -- all because their status arbitrarily changed.
