Really - NYC already has a program to give land for affordable housing & other city projects .. Yet builders don’t build them because they can make more profits elsewhere— get back with me when he actually delivers that housing not just over hyped promises …

Sure he has - he cut funding for rental assistance for the low income, cut funding to reduce overcrowded NYC schools & preventative foster care programs to keep children from Being traumatized to balance that budget -like a good politician didn’t mention that … plenty of other Dems done way more

And NYC already allots that land for affordable housing , parks, etc.. Ans who is going to build those homes since most builders prefer to build ones they can maximize THEIR profit .. NYC have funding to subsidize that to get them to build them .. A way more complex proble than just giving more land

Giving a gas tax holiday on Fed tax would only cost more later since the .19 Fed tax hasn’t caught up with the higher maintenance costs today … Those funds are sent to the states& pays for 40% or more of their transportation budget… so if insolvent would be less for states and higher state taxes .🤷‍♀️

Give you another example - James Talarico floated giving a federal gas tax holiday - except the Federal Highway Trust fund had to be funded in the Biden Infrastructure Act because it was insolvent and now facing that again in 2028 .. That .19 per gallon fed fund not meeting costs already

You see a politician can make promises but that doesn’t mean that keeping those promises won’t have negative impacts else that come back and cost more later ..and sorry that is true for those with even the best ‘intentions’ that don’t throughly research BEFORE they promise …

Trump gave them no tax on OT and seniors 6k tax deductions.. But he lied about Project 2025 and their plans to let businesses average over a 80- 160 day period instead of paying OT after 40 hrs .. And seniors now looking at 23% cuts to SS by 2032 instead of 2034 thanks to those 6k tax cuts ….

Also if you looked up the land that NYC owns some of it has already been designated for affordable housing .. How much is he taking away from other needed projects to do so ?? And just having land doesn’t mean builders will build it since they prefer more profitable ventures . 🤷‍♀️

Tell me how Mandani cutting funding for much needed rental assistance for the low income , cutting funding to reduce overcrowded NYC schools and finding for foster care preventation programs to keep children from being traumatized is helping all his NYC constituents??
