as with all things in life, yes. however, as with all things in life, categorization can be helpful and assists in people seeking what to find or avoid. if a friend wanted "a game like Ocarina of Time", I wouldn't point them to Halo ODST or Persona 5 despite it sharing some elements with them.

it's an action-adventure series. if we're counting every aspect of what the games include ("well you PLAY the ROLE of Link, so it's an RPG!") then it's also a Strategy Puzzle Survival Horror Rhythm Racing FPS Visual Novel.

uhh neither I play the same six games on a loop like the world's saddest playlist while collecting games I intend to play and never do. Like a normal person.

Dark Souls 3. it took the best of DS1, DS2 and Bloodborne and mixed them together into a monumentally satisfying conclusion to a trilogy. everything after was still good, but imo went way too hard on trying to be visually spectacular and be the new "dark souls" via difficulty and worldbuilding.

Pokémon, Animal Crossing, puzzle games like Zuma or Tetris. It's how my mom became a regular Switch player at 60+.
