Fundamentally, you’re ignoring that COINTELPRO didn’t work on the Civil Rights Movement. While Dr. King was in charge, it was very effective. The problem came when the people who couldn’t make it through training started their own movements.

I also think you’re ignoring that these movements could have survived, had they ADAPTED. That’s why the Civil Rights Movement was so successful: they developed strategies to weed out infiltrators. The literal reason they locked arms and sang hymns was to weed them out.

My grandfather, and many other civil rights activists like him, went into protests and integrations, knowing they might die. Sue me, but if you feel a GENOCIDE is being committed, surely there would be more of a willingness to risk personal consequence. Otherwise, that’s revolutionary LARP.
