Don’t go to a protest without a Sharpie. Write the number of your attorney or mom or whomever on your arm. After you write it, go over it again. Make sure it’s in there because the cops will take everything off your person & conveniently lose all of it. But they can’t take that number off your arm.

My mom is Mexica (Mēxihcah). My dad is Oglala Lakota. While the U.S. considers my mom Mexican and my dad Native American, they both have the same brown skin (because they’re both Indigenous). This is why ICE targets Natives — because our skin color is the same as it has been for thousands of years.

Not always. Always is a long time. They always say never is a long time. I always say always is always longer, and I think a lot is too much. A lot is a lot, and probably a lot more than too much. Too much of a lot can be overwhelming, but not always. Understand?

I also despise the 4th of July because fireworks scare dogs, angels on earth, they are. The number of dogs lost — terrorized and traumatized — having run away in fear spikes on the 4th of July. Oh, and troops suffering from PTSD don’t need to be subjected to a barrage of explosions.

The Trail of Tears wasn’t meant to safely remove thousands of peoples from one place and put them safely somewhere else. It was a march of murder and death. The U.S. soldiers killed children and those who could no longer continue to walk. The Trail of Tears is one of many forced removals.
