"Don’t let Sarge see that right there." The police officers couldn't be bothered to stop impaired drivers blowing stop signs, and the 'Civilian Office of Police Accountability' said that's cool with them.
Heather CheroneNEW: The leaders of the agency tasked with investigating misconduct by Chicago police officers created “a vacuum of accountability” by failing to follow its own rules while trying to clear a massive backlog of complaints, according to an analysis by the city’s watchdog. @wttw.bsky.social

The car industry never offered compensation to the residents whose front yards they stole to store their products. They never lobbied to ensure that the land they stole for street parking was fully funded by fees on drivers. It's no different from the cities they razed to ground to build highways.
'On May 18, a supervising traffic control aide was struck by a driver near Soldier Field. The driver fled the scene. A week later, another aide was struck near Rate Field on 35th. The driver only stopped when bystanders physically got in the way of their car.' The thin orange line keeping us safe.
