This is a situation where people are inevitably gonna complain about "gentrifying" transit but the way to make trains and buses better for poor people is by giving them a prestige factor that draws in well-off folks too. People need to feel like it's safe, efficient, and also a source of pride.

In America, mass transit is widely considered to be an alternative of last resort for the extremely poor rather than a safer, cheaper, cleaner and more efficient means of moving people around a metropolitan area.

Hadn't thought of this online mob behavior toward people like Stancil as a kind of warped marriage of "group hunting" and "soap operas" but it makes a lot of sense. There may be some truly deranged people as leaders but lots of others who drop in like it's a casual Fortnite match.

given that it takes far less effort to hunt The Stancil than it does to go to the Serengeti with a .500 Nitro Express big game rifle, we should not be surprised to see people do it casually that we would recognize very easily offline
