Sad news. Steidl is the gold standard for reproducing photographs in photo books. It sometimes comes close to matching the three dimensionality of a good darkroom print. The series of Gordon Parks exhibition catalogs that it's published since 2013 are amazing.

Anyway I was just walking in the UWS and enjoyed overhearing a doorman firmly defend the Mamdani pied-à-terre tax to a resident — with a side of civic education, educating the resident about state vs. city roles in fiscal policy
