I did do some scrolling of you page after to try and see if I could get a better idea of what was up/if I was missing something and I was wondering if media coverage frustration was part of it afterwards. Good to know I was on the right track to some degree. And yeah I can understand there.

People already voted with their wallets or “boycotted” Xbox by just not buying the latest console in the first place. We can make the argument that it wasn’t for “the right reasons” as a lot made that decision earlier in the gen cycle, but idk dude. Maybe I’m just not understanding something.

While I understand the sentiment, this assumes things that aren’t supported by sales data. MS has sold a third of what Sony has this generation, and also assumes those willing to boycott Sony wouldn’t also be willing to for MS, of the narrow margin that own both. It’s just not a good argument.

One way to test if it’s this issue if none of those updates are around, is if you can, remove the battery connection and the charge cord, hold the power button for 20 seconds, reconnect, and try to power on and see how it reacts. If it’s normal, it’s likely the issue I’m referring to.

The manufacturer of that SSD might have an update. What verbiage you’re looking for if any is provided in any potential updates, is an update to “AGESA drivers.” There’s been an issue some months ago where Windows was not recognizing drives that have been running awhile, and sometimes killing them.

Sorry! I double checked the original post, and got a lot of the needed info. Yeah that looks a LOT like the SSD issue. Maybe check Alienware’s website to see if they have any updated drivers for your SSD, or any BIOS updates for the MOBO. If they do not, try to check devices to get the SSD name.1/2

Out of curiosity, how old is the laptop? What OS is it on, and when was the last time you updated all drivers (but especially the SSD) on it? My GF’s laptop has a similar issue, and I’m 90% sure it has to do with the SSD bug Windows had a few months ago.

Had a bit of trouble sleeping last night so I booted up my TrimUI Brick and just dink around on a game for a bit. Chose Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge on the GBA. Interesting little top-down collectathon and manages to retain the charm of the prior entries. Doesn't really pose any challenges, tho.
