Honolulu some of the densest high-rise housing in this country outside NYC and Japanese-style single-story lot houses and both typologies afflicted with American mongo-sized truck disease

thought yesterday the LRB Odyssey review was kinda insufferable but I’ve now swung around to rooting for Emily Wilson and her lineage of literary beef stirring pugilists
Sam FreedmanRe the Emily Wilson discourse - her Dad (A N Wilson) was the king of literary feuds. A good family tradition. Best one was his feud with Bevis Hillier who hoaxed him into including a fake letter in his biography of Bejteman where the first letter of each sentence spelt "AN Wilson is a shit".

London Review of Books‘Nolan has read at least the first line of my translation of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘥𝘺𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘺 into iambic pentameter. In one interview, he cited my version of it: “Tell me about a complicated man.” But I would be ashamed to have written any part of this script.’ New, by Emily Wilson www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v4...
crazy that both Joe Biden and Mark Carney, who have family ties to County Mayo, posted celebrating this victory (definitely listen to this call btw)
Gavan Reilly“The famine is over! The curse be damned!! Hit the nuclear button! Mayo have won the All-Ireland!!” An all-time great sports commentary moment from Stephen Grealis and Martin McHugh on Mayo’s Midwest Radio. #gaa
