Reports indicate he was presented with extensions at least twice, which were rejected. I was bracing for a trade either in the offseason or next year since he only has one more year of club control, but I wasn’t expecting it with the O’s 2.5 games out of a wild card spot.

This has been Mike’s problem for most of his tenure: he thinks he can outsmart everyone at the trade deadline and bolster a roster into contention with 2 months to go. This offseason aside, he does this over signing FA’s, extending our core players, etc. Insulting.

No spoilers whatsoever, all subjective and in reference to LOST, not HEROES, even if I didn’t love the remaining seasons.

Similar to LOST for me: loved the first season, went wildly off the rails, and reading about the ending made me happy I didn’t invest more time into it.

Nope. I think this was always the plan for Elias. Look, with Adley being under control for one more year and rejecting multiple (per reports) extension offers, I was braced for this happening. I did not, however, anticipate it happening when we are on the verge of the playoffs.

Our oldest got an Adley jersey for Christmas this past year. I am dreading the conversation.

Imagine trying to pitch Adley (or Pete, Gunnar, Westy, etc!) on the future of the franchise if this falls through. Elias is deeply unserious, and it’s a lose-lose for him (at least it should be). I will be grateful when Mike Elias is no longer in charge of our roster.
