Tech 4 Housing organizer. Trying to make Seattle a livable and welcoming place for all.

The Seattle Process took one small step towards being consigned to the history books today! Thank you everyone who helped get this passed so that we can get back to solving real problems for Seattleites.

Ryan Packer

The final vote: YES: Strauss, Foster, Kettle, Lin, Rinck NO: Saka, Juarez, Rivera, Hollingsworth The bill passes 5-4.

Paperwork will not save our planet! Thank you @cmeddielin.bsky.social for making it possible to do good things in Seattle!

Councilmember Eddie Lin

First up, our OpEd. There’s much more to say, but I wanted to highlight the importance of political courage when it comes to making the choices we know are needed to address affordability and climate change and to redesign our city around people instead of cars. www.seattletimes.com/opinion/this...

If Dreher has the "same urbanist-y crunch" as @ronpdavis.bsky.social , why does everyone in the housing and transportation advocacy spaces know Ron from a long track record of fighting for safe streets and affordable housing and had never heard of the other guy?

Gordon Padelford

LMAO the Stranger spends most of their endorsement of Will Dreher awkwardly defending his support for extreme Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh

A well earned endorsement! Excited to see what we can accomplish with great leaders like @ronpdavis.bsky.social and @mayorofseattle.bsky.social working across levels of government!

Vote Ron Davis

“Ron Davis is one of the hardest workers I know. He’s equally at home deep-diving into housing policy and knocking on the doors of actual houses to hear from his neighbors about their lives and concerns. He’s also a dad who cares deeply about making our city affordable for working families…

Featuring a lot of very confident statements about what "the current plan" will do to trees, when it means the Taller Denser Faster plan that hasn't been written! Almost like they have a conclusion in mind that doesn't needs to consider any facts...

Babe wake up, a new Seattle slow growth greenwashing group without any identifiable leadership just dropped. www.greenneighborhoodscoalition.org

Love this framework for how we can ensure the future of safe streets. I'm a sucker for any policy that says "this is how we do it right, now let's do it"

@cmtmosqueda.bsky.social Please stop the Hunts Point heist! If these small cities can't provide basic services the solution is annexation

Ryan Packer

In a letter to King County Councilmembers, eight members of the Seattle City Council call a proposed Seattle-only cap on pass-through funding from a new countywide 0.1% sales tax "not acceptable nor equitable" and ask that it be fully dropped at Friday's planned vote.

Well said @cmeddielin.bsky.social !

Councilmember Eddie Lin

Encouraging sprawl to “protect the environment” is literally missing the forest for the trees. But I believe we can actually do both. We can see both the forests and the trees. We can save our forests and farmlands AND have a robust urban tree canopy if we work together.

It hasn't gotten much media attention but thanks to leadership from @councilmember-amr.bsky.social during phase 1 of the comp plan update, Seattle is also a member of the parking reform early adopters club!

Anna Fahey

One year ago, the #WALeg #ParkingReform and Modernization Act became law. Several cities are adopting reforms well before deadlines or removing wasteful and costly mandates altogether. @Sightline.org @citizen-cate.bsky.social www.sightline.org/2026/05/07/w...

So excited for the era of social housing in Seattle to truly begin! Congrats to @tiffanimc.bsky.social @seasocialhousing.bsky.social and @houseourneighbors.bsky.social! Let's keep stacking up wins!

A powerful reminder why we are so fortunate to have The Urbanist keeping us informed. The Seattle Times editorial board doesn't have a process complaint, they have an ideological project to continue exclusion as city policy

The ever growing membership of @westseaurbanism.bsky.social confirms that we're ready for more and better housing options in West Seattle!

Ryan Packer

I hadn't seen this map before, clearly spelling out the fact that the biggest swaths of Seattle set to be impacted by Washington's transit-oriented development bill (at least when it comes to BRT) are in West Seattle. (Areas in green are already meeting the requirements)

LMAO 🤣 they're really out there saying "yes this process has been going on for 4+ years and yes we've had literally dozens of opportunities to comment in every conceivable format, but it is intolerable that we weren't invited to one brainstorming session" 😂😂😂

Rian Watt

As relatable as I find the urge to blog about how mad I am that I wasn’t invited to a meeting, surely the Times has better things to do than complain about building more housing. Isn’t there a rich person at risk of taxation they need to defend?
