I do have to admit that things are a lot easier today than when I ran an ISP back in the 90s. I still remember taking the first Ascend MAXes from Somerset to London in the back of my Ford Escort estate... And doing the same with a switch except by train!

If he'd ever met Vernor he'd know that "The Coming Technological Suingularity" was just one of an eternal wave of singularities, points where people on one side of history couldn't explain something to people on the other. Like agriculture, or the production line, or the internal combustion engine.
