"Wild" is the correct word here, yet this is tolerated and not actively prevented This stretch of the 102 is lethal and desperately needs speed cameras. www.saltwire.com/nova-scotia/...

Watch our member @sflkirk.bsky.social talking about our report on Global Halifax last night (July 29, from 3:05). Near misses are predictable & preventable. We need #VisionZero approaches to make our streets safer for everyone globalnews.ca/video/120022...
ICYMI, we released our incident report form yesterday & will be presenting to Council next month and into the Fall. If you haven't yet written to your Councillor to demand action, now is the time! #RoadSafety #VisionZero #BeforeTheCrash
I'm surprised to see some awareness raising from the muni on this, finally: "be aware that some pedestrians such as those using a white cane or guide dog may not be able to make eye contact" need more than bullet points www.halifax.ca/transportati...
"I feel I will keep looking over my shoulder to see if I am still welcome here, despite being surrounded by welcoming people who accept me as I am" Hateful, racist people absolutely want to make people with different religions & cultures feel scared Read all www.halifaxexaminer.ca/commentary/n...

No, we didn’t come here to eradicate Western civilization by Madiha Mughees @mmughees.bsky.social
Some leadership are unwavering in their opinion that we can't trade car lanes for bus lanes, despite the obvious proven benefits on increasing capacity, reducing congestion and prioritizing emergency vehicles bsky.app/profile/safe...
Safe KjipuktukHi Tim! Yes I know, it was a good point. My point is that leadership at all levels need to have more faith in our buses. BRT in particular is a huge missed opportunity that is not happening. With far more potential impact per $ invested
the controversy is how we end up with so many lanes for cars on arterials, creating demand for driving & delay for everyone in the whole system. A lane each way dedicated for transit, emergency vehicles and authorized commercial transport (& bikes) changes everything www.google.com/maps/place/B...
timouthitofficial request for BRT came to the province last summer. It was added to our list submitted to the federal government. BRT is controversial because it requires lanes, vs using empty tracks or waterways. We have seen this via the pushback from residents on projects like Bayers Rd and Robie.
