Back to BS Dracula, I think being trained in trash helps one enjoy it. You can look at the bad accent work like watching Italian movies with rough dubs and say "I'm just gonna watch the physical acting" or see a cross gushing blood while Oldman screams in Romanian & switch right into "bonkers mode."

Costume and set design is so important, it's a bummer when I see it described and "style over substance" it IS substantive, it's foolish that we shuffle it to the side as not an integral part of storytelling :/

Visual storytelling is so effective that you can hang a basic plot and a real mixed bag of casting choices on it and still end up with an iconic movie.
