a (somewhat) common trope in the Mario series is that anyone can be a hero, no matter what. it doesn’t matter if you’re ordinary or think you’re too far gone, it’s never too late to make a positive impact in the world

i know “its not that deep” but i prefer the 23 Mario Movie over the Galaxy Movie bc it felt like it was trying to say something to its audience of kids, while Galaxy really was just jingling keys for 90 minutes

i like how Mario faces progressively bigger foes in the 23 Mario Movie. he gets told he’s too weak and small all the time but he manages to overcome any challenge that faces him through sheer determination

i’d like to say that we got a movie with basically all of these rolled into one and it was famously terrible
