I saw it opening day. Enjoyed it. The emotional beats were great. It's not perfect but overall, very good. The prattle that it's the "worst superhero movie ever" is nonsense. It's as if no one remembers Supergirl 1984. Sure, it's got 10 or 20% that like it, but the new one is SO much better.

My whole life I have defended the Jewish people. Still do. What happened in WWII is one of the worst chapters in our history. Beyond horrific. But this is about bullies abusing helpless people. It's about an out-of-control rightwing government. I will always side with the downtrodden. Always.

Very sad. So many incredible performances. For many, Jurassic Park comes to mind (rightly so), but I still think of the first film I saw him in. Haven't seen this one in decades. I recall it wasn't that hot, but maybe it will resonate better these days...

The first? Zenyatta Mondatta (1980). I rode my bike a few miles to the record store to pick it up. Almost got hit by a car on the way home because I was distracted by the back cover photography. I admit I still prefer Reggatta de Blanc (1979).

Actually, that was my second thought. Surprisingly, my first thought was anger. Not relief. I've loathed him since before Impeachment in 1998. A terrible person who has now gotten away without any accountability. And so many others will have the same fate. And that's the best we can hope for.

I'm a little late to the party here, but I recognized that view immediately - from a little film I've seen about 30 times. Maybe I'll get there one day. Until then, a guy can dream.
