Human nature is a spectrum, and traits are distributed. The distribution is what it is, and making causal claims about capitalism being the cause of it is not plausible or testable. Also it depends really strong on what you mean by "capitalism".

Not the fear of "other". The fear of uncertainty. Progressives are way better at tolerating uncertainty in general, but that trait is rare. And you won't believe how many things cause fear of uncertainty in people.

It's not a mindset. It's what data tells you. Most people hate thinking (like, in general!). Most people become more conservative as they get older. Most people do not care much about distant problems. All of this is widespread, human psychology.
