I’m not sure if this is a first for Nottinghamshire, but I can’t find any records on NBN or iRecord! Metopoplax ditomoides - it landed on my window today.

Tetrad-bashing for Orthoptera at @kentfieldclub.bsky.social's meeting last weekend, as it was in an under-recorded part of the county. So even finding common species was a great result - such as this Common Green Grasshopper and Lesser Marsh Grasshopper. #KentNature #orthoptera

Found 34 adult and one early instar nymph of Striped Shieldbug (Graphosoma italicum) on the main part of Town Mead, Waltham Abbey today 3rd August. TL378003. All on dried stems and seed heads of Hemlock. #EssexWildlife #UKBugs

Finally found a Striped Shieldbug (Graphosoma italicum) in TQ39 today, the last of the four 10km squares that intersect Waltham Abbey. I have been regularly checking this patch of Hemlock in Town Mead for the last two years. Only 200m south of an established population. #EssexWildlife #UKBugs

A quick check of Gorse bushes at NWT Sweet Briar Marshes today and I found my first Gorse Lacebugs (Dictyonota strichnocera) and the capsid bug Platycranus bicolor (at least I think it is!).

Nice grasshopper seen today... Still trying to get these in my garden!

Not sure what the collective noun is for true bugs but there were a fair few Nettle Ground Bug nymphs , Heterogaster urticae, on this Common Nettle
