Professor, University of California, Riverside School of Public Policy. Public health scientist & sociologist keen on population health & community issues. Sometimes in the news, often for troubling and frustrating topics. Opinions my own. 🇺🇸 🇨🇦

After years of seeing his interviews, this is more of the same. When challenged on his record and statements, he quickly gets rattled and loses it--really easily too. Look at the arm waving.

George Conway ⚖️🇺🇸

The Secretary of Health and Human Services is pathologically lying, gaslighting psychopath.

Flying q asked with zero judgement: if you're in a window seat and close the window, do you give any thought to others who might want to see out of it when you do? I'm an aisle person but just wondering if that's a consideration for the window seat set? Again, 0 judgement. Just curious abt any norm.

Good month... Not sure how all The Beatles stuff got in there though. Really enjoyed Colin Hay's Going Somewhere album. Great night time and work listening.

Having been a college DJ, I get the pressures on radio stations and factors that led to such a move. But chasing after the streaming service model seems a dead end too. Probably not helping is how bad and cliche classic rock radio programming is. Few/no deep cuts, old concerts, etc. I grew up with.

KCAL-FM lays off all on-air staff in switch to all-music radio stationOn-air talent laid off by the station include Daryl Norsell, Patrick Tish, Nikki Preston, John DeSantis and more.www.pressenterprise.com

Hey CA taxpayers: see this re: Prop 38 on the Nov. ballot. Bad look for UCLA. "...the ballot language criteria were tailored in a way that very likely excludes all but one institute in the entire state: the CA Inst. for Immunology & Immunotherapy." Donor & co-founder is chief backer of the prop.

Is this proposition a $4 billion giveaway to a billionaire’s LA research center?Proposition 38 will award $4 billion to one unnamed research center. Under the very specific criteria, only one center seemingly qualifies.calmatters.org

Does public health “need” MAHA? No more than medicine “needs” CAM!Last week, The Atlantic published an embarrassingly contrarian piece about how public health "needs" the "make America healthy again" movement. Public health needs MAHA only if it "needs" to integratesciencebasedmedicine.org

If my Google search is any indicator, this is already great PR--for the GOP Can't imagine Dem candidates in purple districts and not in major cities are enjoying this. Note: DSA has only ~120k members. Dems have ~44M total.

EVERY DEMOCRAT NEEDS TO SEE THIS. DSA co-chair Megan Romer laid out the organization’s platform. Now I’ve got to ask: will they be held accountable when they can’t get these policies enacted, just like Democrats in general? 🧵
