#5debutalbumsSF3 The Pretenders - The Pretenders (1980) Arrived fully formed with this effortlessly cool, hard rocking, hook filled debut. It has aged incredibly well. The songs are full of brash yet sensual swagger. A real eye opener for this teenager. #VinylCommunity

#5debutalbumsSF3 The Who - My Generation (1965) This is a 1980 Virgin mod revival banwagon jumping reissue. A recent acquisition. In addition to two RnB covers, Townsend's songs uniquely blend Byrdsian melodies, Beatles level hooks, and crunching power chords from his throttled Rickenbacker.

#5DebutAlbumsSF3 is the most difficult so far for me. Generally more recent albums struggle against life long faves (of which there are plenty here) but there’s a number of genuine contenders from the last decade in this one. Love this band. Future Me Hates Me The Beths
