My grocery store has carts that vaguely look like cars with steering wheels in the kid seats! I think they're prepared for kids to be there.

I'm sure the nasty smoke isn't helping but the plants that bolted are cool weather crops so that's normal. And for me, tomatoes are wildly variable. If you get a catalog from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange there's lots of planting info. Also some libraries have seeds! (The quality can vary though.)

Oooo! That's a Euphorbia Trigonis(?) or African Milk Tree! Mine narrows like that during winter. It also shot up and grew arms so got trimmed and made into clones.

I've fostered rabbits and honestly a rabbit war helmet makes sense. I broke up a rabbit fight and ended up with a rabbit latched to my arm. Another foster had the tip of her thumb bone bit off. Rabbits are fierce and use something besides your body to break up fights!

The first time I saw a hognose it was mad and doing it's cobra impression. Then when I flopped it out of the driveway so I could get by, it went to the dramatic death throes. All kinds of drama in one snake!

I'm always surprised how fast I can react from 'asleep' to 'move puking cat off the bed'. I think cat puking sound is hardwired into cat people's brains fairly soon.
