That's why to USA-nians, whose main point of comparison is Evangelical Protestantism, the Catholic Church doesn't look that conservative, while to Germans, whose main point of comparison is Mainline Protestantism (even though they call it "evangelisch"), the Catholic Church looks very conservative.

The three main variants of Christianity among white Westerners are Catholic, Evangelical Protestant, and Mainline Protestant. Evangelicals make Catholics look almost moderate in comparison. Mainline Protestants make Catholics look very conservative in comparison.

Not sure if I'd translate German "evangelisch" as English "evangelical". Those churches are *mostly* what the Yanks would call "mainline Protestant", which is pretty much the *other side of the divide* from "evangelical". The few US style Evangelicals Germany has are usually called "evangelikal".

Yeah, it's absolutely impossible that there might, just might, be people who generally agree with you on Israel but think that anti-Israel attitudes can, and often do, gradually or quickly escalate into full-blown antisemitism. That could never possibly happen. Sure. Whatever.

This app/website is not in any particular way connected to blue skies. Similarly, the word "antisemitism" is not necessarily about being anti people who really are semitic.

The point is that in the case of this particular candidate, no one has produced any real evidence that he *is* Israel first in the first place. The problem is the falsehood of the whole claim. The fact that murder is wrong doesn't make it ok to call any random person a murderer for no good reason.

Some of those white men in the Civil War era USA who were the, relative to their time, best ones on Black issues were among the most horrible ones on indigenous issues.
