Left politics, Portland/Oregon sports

People often accuse me and/or RCNRO of being against a deal. That's never been true, from day one. This skeet is the g*d's honest truth and it will be all the way through.

16/ The message should be simple: Portland is prepared to make a major investment in its publicly owned arena and keep the Blazers here for the long term. But public investment must purchase public value. This is not a threat to the team. It is Portland’s price of yes.

I'm not trying to get people to agree or disagree with me, I just know that it feels like we're making a big investment in the Blazers' arena.

There isn't a single NBA/NFL/NHL/MLB team in the last 20 years that walked away from a majority-public funding offer. The State has already authorized $365M of a claimed $573M renovation. The Blazers leaving would be an unprecedented relocation story. Would Adam Silver let it happen?

HOLY SHIT. Shout out to @wrightkatu.bsky.social for digging this up. The Blazers literally CANNOT MOVE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE until 2030. There is literally ZERO rush to sign a deal. Let's put Tom Dundon on a 4-year City option, that way Tom can feel that competitive burn he always talks about.

This is the way folks. Please consider putting $10 towards this one shot to break the deadlock.

Portlanders deserve a progressive and collaborative City Council. That's why @jameyevenstar.bsky.social is running in District 4, and I am running in District 3. But we need your help now. We both need 250 Portland donors ASAP... (cont.) secure.actblue.com/donate/break...

It'd be a shame if they threw a party and none of us came!
