It should be surprising because it's an elected L.A. County DA who made the decision. That county elected a former G.W Bush-nominated official to be DA in order to defeat a progressive DA. It's absurd, and it's incredible how politically illiterate Dem voters are.

Now LA County has an openly white supremacist DA in power who selects anti-racist whistle-blowers to "send messages" to the public. The message he is sending is loud and clear: don't fuck with the Klan. That includes him. And Dem voters chose it. Fucking absurd.

Right-wing Republican Nathan Hochman pretended to be "independent" and fake-endorsed Dem candidate Kamala Harris as a strategy to deceive Dem voters and defeat progressive then-DA George Gascón. It worked.

Here's not qualified to be Trump's lawyer. He's not qualified to be a lawyer at all and should be disbarred.

It's utterly naive to believe that all searches at the border are border investigations.

It's not. SCOTUS has never held the border-search exception can be used as a warrant substitute to investigate ordinary domestic crime unrelated to border crossing. So if the purpose is domestic criminal law enforcement (and it almost certainly was), it's illegal.

Except this was done as part of a domestic investigation and not related to border enforcement, i.e., it was pretextual. Unfortunately, federal courts have been built over the last half-century specifically to enforce authoritarianism at home.

One way to potentially do this is for Nevada's Attorney General Aaron Ford, a Democrat, to initiate a quo warranto action in Nevada courts to revoke the grant of limited liability. Nevada's Democratic-controlled legislature should also take action.

I don't think it's that, either. I think it's that, fundamentally, he serves the ruling class and staunchly advocates its policy preferences (status quo).
