No it is not, it is about their fear of electoral effects. If they thought impeachment would help them win — if they thought fighting Trump would help them win — they’d do it. They don’t think so (Because they are risk averse and their donor whisperers tell them polls say it won’t help them win)

And I want to stress that Schumer and Jeffries and Gillibrand are courting that capital with good reason: Republicans packed the Supreme Court with ideological warriors grown in a vat by Leonard Leo and they legalized massive money in politics and legalized political bribery

I promise that is not true. House D leadership suppresses all talk of impeachment because they fear it will hurt frontline Dems. And donations. Full stop. They are not preparing for it in future and they will not do it until forced. See Pelosi‘s foot dragging on the Trump impeachments.

“The DNC‘s funding problems are a capital revolt” is, the more that I think about it, the key to understanding all of Dem politics right now. The capital is not donating to the DNC bc Ken Martin won’t make promises to crypto or other big money/corp donors. More places should be reporting on this!

If David Hogg were DNC chair he’d pivot hard to choice 2, piss off wealthy donors, get Schumer and Jeffries angry, probably get fired, but maybe be able to raise some money from engaged small dollar Dems. Maybe.

Yes. Capital revolt AND small donor revolt. Those money sources correspond to choices one and two in the first post. Martin is squeezed between them with no good options to raise money.

Really, how can Martin against this kind of widespread attitude? He can’t change anything about this. He’s not a Senator. He doesn’t have a vote for the leadership.
