I always find it funny how this game, which is primarily a sci-fi dungeon crawler, also ends up being one of the most unsettling games ever made. Not just from the audio logs, but from the enemy dialogue and a bunch of other shit, too.

More than likely a rumor, then it became a learned behavior. And yes, it does corrode the contacts eventually due to moisture from your saliva. I've seen corroded contacts from cleaning some of the carts I have and they are uhhh....not pretty.

Also some advice for random encounters: Repel. Repel makes cave exploration a LOT less annoying!

Forgetting moves and having TMs be single-use is where the game really wants you to strategies with your movesets, cuz these old games are a massive far cry from the stuff modern games have now (unlimited-use TMs and the ability to reuse moves)

Depends on how short you want it, but my current comfort game's been Pacific Drive lately. Campaign's pretty short (clocks in at about less than 20 hours) and there's a lot of accessibility options to tweak to make the game as low-stakes as possible.

And then immediately followed by fanart of the 4 Princesses chugging 1 entire pot of coffee each. Or that one comic of Luna making the ultimate coffee in a cauldron (with an entire bag of Death Wish thrown in there for good measure)
