One of the funniest/quirkiest things I had to do every year when I was faculty advisor to our Lambda Pi Eta chapter of the national communication honor society was read the blurb about its history at honor’s convocation. The honor society was founded by a guy named Stephen A. Smith. (Not that one.)

The 9/11 cheerleading thing sounds so vile, but watching it I realized it’s a corny GenZ/Alpha attempt at patriotism. As someone who saw it & lived it & can’t even go down to Ground Zero, I’m unphased. I realized long ago that 9/11 may as well be Pompeii to kids born after 2001. They don’t get it

He also mushed Jalen Brunson in the head & tried to kick out OG Anunoby’s knee while the refs & the league looked the other way. He got a free shot at Brunson’s ankles by taking up his landing area to no call. Fun. What a wacky alien.

This is eerily reminiscent of baseball discourse of several years back. When I did some writing for Baseball Prospectus I was deeper in analytics on that end & still in the Stone Age with my hoops fandom. The lesson I’d carry over is that data analytics tell stories, plural, and never absolutes.

Marc VeldhoenI'm a full Professor of Immunology and fully vaccinated. I didn't get vaccinated out of obedience, but after decades of studying the immune system and evaluating all evidence. Calling that "lack of critical thinking" is not an argument. It's ideology masked as pretend intellect.
