Loved @gene.meme's article on copyright issues in the ubiquitous "Gen Alpha Melody". However, as a musicologist researching copyright (academic.oup.com/book/62353/c...), I have to point out that the shared (non-copyrightable) chord progressions obscure a lot of (copyrightable) melodic variation.
