No one should face exclusion or discrimination because of who they are. The Green Party stands in solidarity with the trans community and will keep fighting for equality that includes everyone.

Here's a piece from me about the decision against Sex Matters on Friday, and its wider implications 👇
Good Law ProjectAnti-trans activists lost twice in one day, after the High Court rejected a challenge to police guidance. @jessothomson.co.uk argues that the ruling raises important questions for trans human rights: https://goodlaw.social/0kp3
WNBA (the org) courted this. They could have nipped this in the bud, but instead they placated anti-trans activists, so now bigots have glomed onto them. If you don't tell them their opinions are vile and are unwelcome, they will destroy you or leech on you forever. just ask amnesty international

bsky.app/profile/hlee... I want to talk about this for a minute as an important case study in how conservative positions, completely divorced from reality, scaffold out their rhetorical credibility 🧵

Gotta wonder who exactly @amnestyuk.bsky.social think donates to them.
Marcus 🏳️🌈🇧🇧@amnestyuk.bsky.social I’ve supported you before but given your shameful cowardly and transphobic statement about trans people I won’t be supporting you again
Now that @amnestyuk.bsky.social have capitulated to transphobic billionaire bigots legal threats I have cancelled my monthly donation to them and want to set it up with Good Law Project instead. I specifically want it to go towards supporting trans rights - how do I do this?
Question for Amnesty. Trans rights have regressed in the UK. That’s undeniable. The organisations you are apologising to have celebrated these rights being eroded. Are you really that weak that you can’t in good faith defend calling them anti-rights? Because they very clearly fucking are.

Amnesty UK is no longer a credible source of opposition to human rights violations, it may as well disband now.
k1956Amnesty has caved to Rowling's millions. Disgusting! www.amnesty.org.uk/latest/an-ap...
UCU are not affiliated to the Labour Party (and therefore does not attend women’s conference) but if we were then we would be supporting this stance by our brilliant sister unions. Solidarity to them and the whole trans and non binary community.

Original post deleted, I think due to link issue - but here's where you can withdraw your data from the NHS shared record.

The official government response to London Trans Prides message to Andy Burnham from the end of various articles: A Government spokesperson said: ‘The Government is committed to protecting the rights, dignity and safety of all LGBT+ people. 🧵 (me- this is simply insulting)
In the 1990s, when Pride London was the biggest music festival in Europe by numbers attending and every tube was packed, it also got no coverage. That's what it looks like when government colludes with the fat right to make acknowledging the existence of a community legally and politically verboten.
NatachaIf you are a @theguardian.com reader you wouldn’t know that the largest ever gathering of trans people in history yesterday was protesting against the Burnham government’s transphobic hate-policies. It had an article about making an omelette though.
I'm not saying she's necessarily the stupidest person of all time, but she's definitely the person with the biggest ever gap between how clever they think they are, and how stupid they actually are.
As this post seems to be getting seen, may I ask that anyone who does helps boost this one too - J.K. Rowling promoting transphobic sites that sell weapons is not something that should be known about by so few people.
Alan DriscollGiven J.K. Rowling's apparent desire to see Amnesty International in court, Amnesty may want to take a look into her endorsement of a site that not only incites violence against the trans community, but also sells the weapons required to enact it. terfipedia.com @terfipedia.com
PSA on the Victoria Line tube in London. Phillipson and every other GC weirdo needs to take note.
it has been an exercise in how a directed propaganda campaign can be highly effective, and seeing otherwise liberal people fall for it has disgusted and outraged me. People who lived through and fought against an extremely similar campaign of homophobia in the early 1980s, even!
elia ayoubWorth adding some numbers to this. The British press decided to make trans rights into an issue. It just wasn’t an issue before. This was a top-down decision. shado-mag.com/articles/opi...
Every now and then, it’s worth saying what ought to be obvious: trans people have always existed, and will exist as long as humans do. They’ve not done anything wrong by wanting their existence recognised, supported, and celebrated. The transformation of their existence into “an issue” is evil.
