…so it was about 30+% higher CO2 footprint & cost than just a barrel of oil. It was”optically” nature-derived, but the true purpose was to raise the volume and prices for corn-growers and distributors. Consumers lost out on lower food prices & higher fuel prices. Bullshit optics.

In a different life 25 years ago, I told Sen. Chuck Grassley (Iowa corn) and a few other senators in a closed-door session that ethanol was the MOST unethical fuel… It consumed 1.3 barrels of oil to grow & make 1 barrel of ethanol fuel, while taking away FOOD that people could consume.
