My own Q&A advice is to start crying in the back third of your talk, well before questions start. That way, everyone will feel so bad for you that you don't even have to do the silly dance that is the philosophy Q&A, and you can go home and continue crying

Looks like we're doing the "public trust in universities" thing again, which is always a red herring. There's one of two political parties in America that hates higher education, and they tell people we suck. Lo, people believe we suck. How do you change that, other than get that party out of power?
