Tbh this is maybe the most anti-free market administration since World War 2. They tax imports, pick winners and losers (often based on proximity to the president), attempt to dictate central bank policy, manipulate equity markets, block industries on ideological grounds. Not laissez-faire!

This seems a little unnecessarily aggressively. Politicians are often constrained by expectations about reactions by the public, courts, and other actors. But those institutions change, and you don't know what they'll *actually* do unless you test them. I don't see why that's "wrecker shit"?

Imo it's interesting that "The Odyssey" and this year's "28 Years Later: The Bone Temple" reflect very high profile acknowledgements of the end of a certain vision of society. Something is definitely in the air.

Also like, Nolan's Odyssey is not Homer's Odyssey. Or rather, it's an adaptation just like likely thousands before him. Some of his additions make the story more resonant with current concerns. But it's fair to criticize those additions!
