don’t want to harvest your data, we can’t prevent a bad actors from doing the same. thats the nature of atproto as a whole (until permissioned data is released). as for indexing by google, i believe you can control this on their side if you’re using a custom domain. hope this helps, hard question

so I personally have the confidence that this data isn’t being used for training directly. But the issue is we (writing platforms) can’t really control how this data is used. Since all your writing is on atproto publicly accessible to everyone that wants to index it. So while the platforms 2/?

Good question, yes we do. Once published we need different versions/sizes/transformations to optimize load times for load speed devices. Like I mentioned we’re working with @infra.coop to get a better way to handle image transformations based on the images on a PDS instead! Soon, no stored media

and those need to go somewhere too. But we’re working on something with @infra.coop to solve this for the whole atmosphere soon.

The reason for us is because while yes the blob lives in your PDS *once published*, the media doesn’t get uploaded there until it is published. So we need a place to put this media until then. But also offprint optimizes images so the pages hosted by us don’t load slowly trying to load large blobs

Working on it 🙌🏽 custom navigation, standalone pages and reusable components are the biggest step towards that. Just need a few more things to make offprint feel as customizable as possible.

Definitely possible, going to start work on a reader experience in Offprint soon. That’ll be a great time to add that feature in there!

No worries, I'll see if I can find anything that could explain it on our end. Slow sites aren't fun to use, so we need to fix that if its happening

This is a really cool idea, we could definitely add something like this in the future. Noting it down!

Takes a few seconds to check if a website is embeddable. I’ll add a loading icon or something to the ones that are being checked to distinguish from the unavailable ones.
