taking this article at face value, it misses the point. as someone who was in polite society dc when chapo/dirtbag leftism/whatever caught on, the appeal wasn’t “leftism justifies being mean,” it was not treating genuinely evil political positions with respect or legitimacy they got everywhere else

I’m going to be honest, I write (for a living!) about how these tools work, including how they function (or fail to) in science and metascience applications; including, even, how biases infiltrate these applications. I could not have guessed that it was this bad or this blatant.
