I hope everyone who sees this (esp trans folks) knows they are valuable and deserve to be happy. If you are one of the people perpetuating this trauma, I hope you really think about the fact that you feel superior to others, and why that might be.

Like all of society has been specifically designed to cater to my every want and need but I still to this day feel that way about myself. I hate seeing people make others feel this way. It enrages me to no end.

I find it easy to stand up for trans folks because I too was made by everyone around me from a very early age to feel like I didn’t matter and didn’t deserve to be happy and if I, a cishet white guy, can internalize that then I can’t even imagine how hard that must be for the most vulnerable.

This is why I say that caving on the sports issue doesn't make it go away. The IOC, World Athletics, 27 states, and every major sporting body have banned trans athletes. The Supreme Court agreed with them. They got what they wanted and they still can't shut up about it and keep making it an issue.

Personally I support Seattle cops spending as little time in Seattle as possible, in the interest of public safety.

If you’re willing to sacrifice trans folks to “defeat trumpism” you are just being tricked into doing the bidding of the very people you claim to be fighting. You don’t fight something by serving it.

There is nothing pragmatic about eliminating rights for vulnerable groups. Just as there is nothing remotely the same about strategically fighting to gain rights and callously removing rights previously guaranteed.
