If you’re willing to sacrifice trans folks to “defeat trumpism” you are just being tricked into doing the bidding of the very people you claim to be fighting. You don’t fight something by serving it.

Polling shows that most people think trans folks being in spaces that align with their gender identity is more popular than not. Throwing trans folks under the bus here actually hurts democrats, as it goes against popular opinion. There’s no reason at all to cede ground on it

Lastly, NO ONE is free until we are all free. Giving up one group never gives you a seat at the table, just a spot a little further down on the menu.

That's all nice. but I like winning so I can actually get the policies I want. That doesn't mean that I get everything I want in one go. It means understanding that compromise happens in politics.

It's called when you are fighting fascists at the ballot box you do what must be done to defeat them first. Once that is done then you can go back to making progress on the areas that regressed.

It's called right now if you want to advocate for trans people the best thing, and frankly only thing, you can do right now is to defeat Trumpism first and foremost. If you don't do that then nothing else matters because everything is lost.
