The episode ends with Margaret dropping paracetamol into juice which she gives to Glynis. Glynis admits she had sought out Margaret to find some kind of absolution. We do not know whether Margaret overdosed Glynis but it is heavily implied.

His widow, Margaret, befriends a woman named Glynis who also lost her husband recently but learns that Glynis is the one who killed Victor when she discovers newspaper clippings about the murder in her house.

A speeding driver flies down the road, hitting Victor, and driving on without stopping. He dies alone in the gutter.

Victor goes to attend a reunion of people he used to work with, but he accidentally goes to the wrong room at the pub. Thinking none of his friends bothered to show up and that nobody cared, he wanders outside to head home. It's dark and raining.
