People in Mass would always puzzle over this, "how does Blue Mass elect Romney and Charlie Baker" and my answer was always that for a certain slice of moderate Dems, "voted for a republican" was a private point of pride, that it "proved" that Good Republicans existed

i wonder if liz cheney, hogan or somebody was magically the R nom in 28, would the right wing go along with this or would they do a reform / constitution type candidate. it’s transparently a dream of many democrats for republicans to get “back to normal” but they have no capability to make it happen

I dunno that it's weird... If bears ran major media outlets, we'd probably see a ton of articles recommending hikers make sure to bring bags of honey and maybe some tasty plump toddlers with them to ward off bears.
