An abusive son-in-law leveraging his father-in-law’s (alleged) gay activities to stay quiet about his daughter being a punching bag is the most Republican thing I can imagine, which is aided by the fact that Ohio somehow elected both of these losers to federal office.
the abbot of unreason (an archaeologist)This is very much the reality of Google's business model, rather than the narrative they're selling of being climate heroes building AI climate solutions
Ketan JoshiNEW BLOG FOR YOU Google's energy consumption numbers in their new climate report are mind-blowing. 2 years ago they flipped from linear to exponential growth, and their climate impact is blowing out, too. A WILD testament to the obscene bloat and waste of GenAI: ketanjoshi.co/2026/07/01/g...
Hurling F-bombs at an 85-year-old scientist who won’t fight back doesn’t make you tough. Staying silent after your own daughter accused Rep. Max Miller of holding a gun to her head, pushing her against a wall, and fracturing your granddaughter’s collarbone makes you a coward.
Aaron RuparMoreno to Fauci: "Who the fuck did you think you were?"
What the fuck is this, ABC on YouTube? As an Indigenous person who is proud that Victoria has a Treaty, signed by the Labor government, no, it's absolutely not a good time for Labor to lose the Victorian election. They and the Greens support Treaty, the Liberals, Nationals, and One Nation don't.
With a church fire in Leicester the racists are out and I'd like to note that most of the congregation of the church in question isn't white British, & the 'illegals in hotels' they're blaming for 'destroying heritage' have been some of the best volunteers at Leicester's oldest church for months now
If there were 60 cases of immigrants committing sex crimes, against children, Trump would order the mass execution of every immigrant in America. Here, 60 DHS/ICE agents committed sex crimes against children—silence. Horrifying report by the Ohio Immigrant Alliance: docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Open Letter: Stop the Uncritical Adoption of AI Technologies in Academiaopenletter.earthI have no problem with this. What I did find unfair was that we were paying £72k a year as Mum was a dementia patient, when her care would have been free if she had had any other life limiting condition. And the fees we paid went to a private equity vampires while staff were on minimum wages.
@ournewhomecoach.bsky.social I feel confident in saying this may be the most Australian headline I’ve ever read.

Donald Trump has earned more money in his first and second year, in his second term as president, than in the previous 60 years of his life, per Bloomberg.
A very interesting and worthwhile thread. Seriously, the government cuts libraries, public AND school, just when cost of living makes buying books unaffordable for many families, and then sits there going 'why don't they read?' Read WHAT, you toss-weasels, YOU TOOK THEIR BOOKS AWAY.

"Allowing a landlord to define “offensive” to include what they found “morally offensive” could also pave the way for Australian property law to become more like the US, where restrictive covenants were used by developers to facilitate racial segregation and discrimination." #auslaw
It's part of a major federal court case over those cancelations. Here's what the government admitted as part of a process meant to avoid discovery (and perhaps spare it from sharing more damaging records):
NEW: In a stunning admission, the Trump administration admitted in court documents that it canceled billions in energy grants to states "based solely" on politics -- and whether that state was represented by Democrats and backed Harris in 2024. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/24/b...

The claim “RFK Jr. does not fuck chickens” is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that RFK Jr. fucks chickens.
When All Hail Chaos was coming out and I was truly truly in the dumps and hysterical with nerves, kind readers here showing my many library holds was truly one of my greatest comforts!
Sunny MoraineIf you want to read a book and your library doesn’t have it, it is truly a massive favor to an author to request that the library acquire it. It really and truly is
