The day before this we went down to the harbour and the choir sang the Rani Arbo setting of Tennyson's 'Crossing the Bar' that they do at the beginning of this concert, and I stood staring out at the castle, the sea lapping at the shore, as it simultaneously healed and broke something inside of me.

God it's so hard having taste. I know most of you can't relate. But still. Have some sympathy.

She actually told me to take supper up on a tray with me because she's incredibly wholesome (I said it'd ruin my sleep to go to bed this early but would go immediately after Compline and got a very firm nod that said that if I didn't keep my word I'd have reason to fear)

Arrived at the nunnery and the Mother Superior immediately told me to go to bed (at 6pm!) because I looked exhausted.

And of course, my friends, a reminder from the ruins of Lindisfarne priory, to always look up.

I have a 100% success rate when it comes to persuading people that cathedrals are transgender. Just saying.

Cornering unsuspecting church musicians on Holy Island and showing them my PowerPoint presentation about how cathedrals are transgender (I have it on my phone and am always ready to present it).

My job is to come here to Holy Island and say poems in her ancient church. Absolutely ridiculous situation tbh.
