The Boeing Integrated Manned Interplanetary Spacecraft (IMIS) was a 1968 design for a Mars mission. Boeing estimated that this design could launch its first mission in 1985. It would use five NERVA rocket stages, each fired and discarded throughout the 460 day flight.
